-God wants us to choose God.

-Only one man and one woman.

  1. What was the name of the first man?

-Adam.

  1. After God created Adam, what did God do with Adam?

-God made Adam chief of all the earth.

  1. What was life like in the beginning?

-In the beginning, there was no anger.

-In the beginning, there was no hate.

-In the beginning, there was no evil.

-In the beginning, there was no death.

  1. Who was watching when God created a perfect world?

-God’s angels, Satan, and his demons.

  1. Were Satan and his demons happy that God created a perfect world?

-No.

-Did God finish creating the heavens and the earth?

-Yes.

Let’s read Genesis 2:1

1-Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

-God finished creating everything.

-God finished all of the work that He planned to do.

-Sometimes people start a work, but do not finish it.

-Sometimes men start building a house, but do not finish.

-Sometimes women start making a pot, but do not finish.

-Sometimes people do not finish because the work is too hard.

-Sometimes people do not finish because someone stops them.

-God, however, is not like people.

-When God begins a work, He does not stop because the work is too hard.

-When God begins a work, He does not stop because someone stops Him.

-When God begins a work, God always finishes the work.

-Why does God always finish a work that He begins?

-Because God never changes.

-Because nothing can stop God from finishing His work.

-When God begins a work, can people stop His work?

-No.

-When God begins a work, can Satan or his demons stop His work?

-No.

-When God promises to do something, He will always do it.

-Let’s read what God did after He finished creating the heavens and the earth:

Let’s read Genesis 2:2-3

2-By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested from all His work.

3-And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done.

-Why did God rest on the seventh day?

-Was God tired?

-No.

-Why was God not tired after creating everything?

-Because God does not become tired.

-Because God’s power never ends.

-Why did God rest on the seventh day?

-Because God finished creating all that He planned to create.

-God created everything in how many days?

-Only six days.

-How many days does it take to build a house?

-Maybe more than three months.

-Yet look at all that God created in just six days.

-Only God could create the heavens and the earth in just six days.

Let’s read Genesis 2:4b & 6

4-When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens–

6-Streams (mist) came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground–

-When God first created the earth, there was no rain.

-If there was no rain in the beginning, then how did God water the earth?

-God watered the earth by mist that came up from the ground.

Let’s read Genesis 2:8

8-Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east in Eden; and there He put the man He had formed.

-In the beginning, God planted a beautiful garden.

-What was the name of the garden God planted?

-The Garden of Eden.

-For whom did God plant the Garden of Eden?

-For Adam.

-Why did God plant the garden for Adam?

-Because God loved Adam very much.

-When God planted the garden, He placed Adam into the garden.

-Did God ask Adam if He could place Adam in the Garden of Eden?

-No.

-Why did God not ask Adam if He could place Adam in the Garden of Eden?

-Because God created Adam, Adam belonged to God.

-Because God created all people, to whom do all people belong?

-All people belong to God.

-Because God created everything, to whom does everything belong?

-Everything belongs to God.

-In the middle of the Garden of Eden, God planted two special trees.

Let’s read Genesis 2:9b

9-In the middle of the garden were the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

-What was the name of the first tree God planted in the middle of the Garden of Eden?

-The Tree of Life.

-Why did God plant the Tree of Life in the middle of the Garden of Eden?

-God wanted Adam to eat from the tree and live forever.

-God did not force Adam to eat from the Tree of Life.

-God wanted Adam to choose.

-God wanted Adam to choose to eat from the Tree of Life.

-God wanted Adam to choose life.

-What was the name of the second tree God planted in the middle of the Garden of Eden?

-The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

-For the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, God gave Adam a command.

Let’s read Genesis 2:16-17a

16-And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;

17-But you must not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.”

-For the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, what was the command God gave to Adam?

-God commanded Adam not to eat its fruit.

-God knows that which is good and that which is evil.

-God knows that good is good, and that evil is evil.

-In the beginning, Adam only knew that which was good.

-In the beginning, Adam did not know any evil.

-Let’s read what God said would happen to Adam if he ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil:

Let’s read Genesis 2:17b

17-And the LORD God said to Adam, “For when you eat of it you will surely die.”

-If Adam ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, what would happen?

-Adam would die.

-What is death?

-Most people say that there is just one death.

-God says that there are three deaths.

-The first death is separation from God.

-Why is separation from God death?

-Because God alone is the Giver of life.

-Because all life comes from God.

-Lucifer sinned, and he was separated from God.

-If Adam disobeyed God, Adam would be separated from God.

-The second death is separation of the soul from the body.

-This is the death that most people know.

-If Adam disobeyed God, Adam’s body would die.

-The third death is separation forever in the Lake of Eternal Fire.

-If Adam disobeyed God, Adam’s soul would go to the Lake of Eternal Fire.

-If Adam disobeyed God, he would be separated from God, his body would die, and his soul would go to the Lake of Eternal Fire.

-Why could God command Adam not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?

-Because God made Adam.

-Because Adam belonged to God.

-If a man makes a hoe, does not that hoe belong to the man who made it?

-Yes.

-If a woman makes a basket, does not that basket belong to the woman who made it?

-Yes.

-If a child makes a toy, does not that toy belong to the child who made it?

-Yes.

-Because God created Adam, Adam belonged to God.

-Because God created Adam, God could command Adam.

-Was it good for God to command Adam?

-Yes.

-Why was it good for God to command Adam?

-Because God was more wise than Adam.

-Is an older man more wise than a young boy?

-Yes.

-Is an older woman more wise than a young girl?

-Yes.

-Is it important for young boys to listen to the older men?

-Yes.

-Is it important for young girls to listen to the older women?

-Yes.

-Because God was much wiser than Adam, it was important for Adam to listen to God.

-Why did God want Adam to listen to Him?

-Because God was much wiser than Adam.

-Because God knew that which was good for Adam.

-Because God knew that which was bad for Adam.

-Because God wanted to protect Adam.

-Older men know that which is good and that which is bad for the young boys.

-Older women know that which is good and that which is bad for the young girls.

-Who knew that which was good and that which was bad for Adam?

-God.

-Who knows that which is good for all people?

-God.

-God knows everything.

-God wanted Adam to listen to Him.

-God wants all people to listen to Him.

-God’s truths are in the Bible.

-God wants all people to listen to that which He has written in the Bible.
