Let’s read Genesis 2:18

-God decided to create a wife for Adam.
-God did not ask Adam what Adam wanted.
-God alone decided to create a wife for Adam.
-Why did God decide to create a wife for Adam?
-Because God loved Adam very much.
-Because God did not want Adam to be alone.
Let’s read Genesis 2:19-20a
19-Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.
20-So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.
-In the beginning, God made Adam chief of all the world.
-In the beginning, God also made Adam chief of all the animals.
-God asked Adam to give names to all of the animals.
-So Adam named all of the animals.
-But Adam was still the only person on earth.
Let’s read Genesis 2:20b
20-But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
-Did God create people and animals the same?
-No.
-How did God create people and animals differently?
-God did not create animals in His image.
-God created only people in His image.
-People can know God, but animals cannot know God.
-People can love God, but animals cannot love God.
-People can choose God, but animals cannot choose God.
-If Adam was thinking about something, could he ask the animals to think with him?
-No.
-If Adam was happy or sad, could he ask the animals to be happy or sad with him?
-No.
-If Adam wanted to choose something to do, could he ask the animals if they would choose to do this with him?
-No.
-Were the animals a suitable companion to Adam?
-No.
-Adam needed a suitable companion with whom he could talk.
-Because God loved Adam, God decided to create a wife for Adam.
-Was Adam able to create a wife for himself?
-No.
-Were Satan and his demons able to create a wife for Adam?
-No.
-Who alone was able to create a wife for Adam?
-God.
-One day, God created a wife for Adam.
Let’s read Genesis 2:21-22
21-So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, He took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh.
22-Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
-Only God was able to create a wife for Adam.
-God’s power never ends.
-There is nothing that God cannot do.
-God created the first woman, and gave her as a gift to Adam.
-If someone gave you a great gift, would you take good care of it?
-Yes.
-If someone gave you a cow, would you take good care of it?
-Yes.
-If someone gave you a car, would you take good care of it?
-Yes.
-God created the first woman, and gave her to Adam as a great gift.
-God wanted Adam to take good care of his wife.
-God wanted Adam to love his wife very much.
-Let’s read what Adam said when God gave him his wife:
Let’s read Genesis 2:23-24
23-The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
24-For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
-God made woman for man so they could be married.
-God made woman for man so they could live together.
-God made woman for man so they could have children.
-Everything that God does is good.
-Everything that God does is perfect.
-That is because God is only good and perfect.
-God cannot think anything evil.
-God cannot say anything evil.
-God cannot do anything evil.
-Do you think that Adam was happy to receive the great gift of a wife?
-Yes.
-Adam was very happy.
-What was the name of Adam’s wife?
-The name of Adam’s wife was Eve.
Let’s read Genesis 2:25
25-The man and the woman were both naked, and they felt no shame.
-In the beginning, Adam had no shame.
-In the beginning, Eve also had no shame.
-In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve perfect.
-In the beginning, Adam and Eve knew no evil.
-In the beginning, Adam and Eve walked with God, and were very happy.
