-God wants us to think about that which is good.

-So we can love God.

-God wants us to choose that which is good.

- How many people did God create in the beginning?
-Only one man and one woman.
- What was the name of the first man?
-Adam.
- After God created Adam, what did God do with Adam?
-God made Adam chief of all the earth.
- What was life like in the beginning?
-In the beginning, there was no anger.
-In the beginning, there was no hate.
-In the beginning, there was no evil.
-In the beginning, there was no death.
- Who was watching when God created a perfect world?
-God’s angels, Satan, and his demons.
- Were Satan and his demons happy that God created a perfect world?
-No.
-Did God finish creating the heavens and the earth?
-Yes.
Let’s read Genesis 2:1
1-Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.
-God finished creating everything.
-God finished all of the work that He planned to do.
-Sometimes people start a work, but do not finish it.
-Sometimes men start building a house, but do not finish.
-Sometimes women start making a pot, but do not finish.
-Sometimes people do not finish because the work is too hard.
-Sometimes people do not finish because someone stops them.
-God, however, is not like people.
-When God begins a work, He does not stop because the work is too hard.
-When God begins a work, He does not stop because someone stops Him.
-When God begins a work, God always finishes the work.
-Why does God always finish a work that He begins?
-Because God never changes.
-Because nothing can stop God from finishing His work.
-When God begins a work, can people stop His work?
-No.
-When God begins a work, can Satan or his demons stop His work?
-No.
-When God promises to do something, He will always do it.
-Let’s read what God did after He finished creating the heavens and the earth:
Let’s read Genesis 2:2-3
2-By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested from all His work.
3-And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done.
-Why did God rest on the seventh day?
-Was God tired?
-No.
-Why was God not tired after creating everything?
-Because God does not become tired.
-Because God’s power never ends.
-Why did God rest on the seventh day?
-Because God finished creating all that He planned to create.
-God created everything in how many days?
-Only six days.
-How many days does it take to build a house?
-Maybe more than three months.
-Yet look at all that God created in just six days.
-Only God could create the heavens and the earth in just six days.
Let’s read Genesis 2:4b & 6
4-When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens–
6-Streams (mist) came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground–
-When God first created the earth, there was no rain.
-If there was no rain in the beginning, then how did God water the earth?
-God watered the earth by mist that came up from the ground.
Let’s read Genesis 2:8
8-Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east in Eden; and there He put the man He had formed.
-In the beginning, God planted a beautiful garden.
-What was the name of the garden God planted?
-The Garden of Eden.
-For whom did God plant the Garden of Eden?
-For Adam.
-Why did God plant the garden for Adam?
-Because God loved Adam very much.
-When God planted the garden, He placed Adam into the garden.
-Did God ask Adam if He could place Adam in the Garden of Eden?
-No.
-Why did God not ask Adam if He could place Adam in the Garden of Eden?
-Because God created Adam, Adam belonged to God.
-Because God created all people, to whom do all people belong?
-All people belong to God.
-Because God created everything, to whom does everything belong?
-Everything belongs to God.
-In the middle of the Garden of Eden, God planted two special trees.
Let’s read Genesis 2:9b
9-In the middle of the garden were the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
-What was the name of the first tree God planted in the middle of the Garden of Eden?
-The Tree of Life.
-Why did God plant the Tree of Life in the middle of the Garden of Eden?
-God wanted Adam to eat from the tree and live forever.
-God did not force Adam to eat from the Tree of Life.
-God wanted Adam to choose.
-God wanted Adam to choose to eat from the Tree of Life.
-God wanted Adam to choose life.
-What was the name of the second tree God planted in the middle of the Garden of Eden?
-The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
-For the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, God gave Adam a command.
Let’s read Genesis 2:16-17a
16-And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
17-But you must not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.”
-For the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, what was the command God gave to Adam?
-God commanded Adam not to eat its fruit.
-God knows that which is good and that which is evil.
-God knows that good is good, and that evil is evil.
-In the beginning, Adam only knew that which was good.
-In the beginning, Adam did not know any evil.
-Let’s read what God said would happen to Adam if he ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil:
Let’s read Genesis 2:17b
17-And the LORD God said to Adam, “For when you eat of it you will surely die.”
-If Adam ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, what would happen?
-Adam would die.
-What is death?
-Most people say that there is just one death.
-God says that there are three deaths.
-The first death is separation from God.
-Why is separation from God death?
-Because God alone is the Giver of life.
-Because all life comes from God.
-Lucifer sinned, and he was separated from God.
-If Adam disobeyed God, Adam would be separated from God.
-The second death is separation of the soul from the body.
-This is the death that most people know.
-If Adam disobeyed God, Adam’s body would die.
-The third death is separation forever in the Lake of Eternal Fire.
-If Adam disobeyed God, Adam’s soul would go to the Lake of Eternal Fire.
-If Adam disobeyed God, he would be separated from God, his body would die, and his soul would go to the Lake of Eternal Fire.
-Why could God command Adam not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil?
-Because God made Adam.
-Because Adam belonged to God.
-If a man makes a hoe, does not that hoe belong to the man who made it?
-Yes.
-If a woman makes a basket, does not that basket belong to the woman who made it?
-Yes.
-If a child makes a toy, does not that toy belong to the child who made it?
-Yes.
-Because God created Adam, Adam belonged to God.
-Because God created Adam, God could command Adam.
-Was it good for God to command Adam?
-Yes.
-Why was it good for God to command Adam?
-Because God was more wise than Adam.
-Is an older man more wise than a young boy?
-Yes.
-Is an older woman more wise than a young girl?
-Yes.
-Is it important for young boys to listen to the older men?
-Yes.
-Is it important for young girls to listen to the older women?
-Yes.
-Because God was much wiser than Adam, it was important for Adam to listen to God.
-Why did God want Adam to listen to Him?
-Because God was much wiser than Adam.
-Because God knew that which was good for Adam.
-Because God knew that which was bad for Adam.
-Because God wanted to protect Adam.
-Older men know that which is good and that which is bad for the young boys.
-Older women know that which is good and that which is bad for the young girls.
-Who knew that which was good and that which was bad for Adam?
-God.
-Who knows that which is good for all people?
-God.
-God knows everything.
-God wanted Adam to listen to Him.
-God wants all people to listen to Him.
