From South Sudan:

“Using the chronological booklets, we started teaching the booklets in the camp. With the help of two brothers, we were able to reach out to and train in three different teaching locations some 4,800 students who were from 36 different tribes in the Nuba mountains. This is, I believe, a great milestone for missions among the Nubians.

For many of the tribes, the teaching was life changing, as they confessed that they have never held such booklets that are so simple, yet very profound.

Among the tribes which we were presented were; Tira, Koalib, Muru, Shuaya, Thoro, Kaunyaru (completely unreached) , Mesakin, Krongo, Tulishi (total animists), Kordofan, Nubi, Diling, Kadaru, Ghuflan,Wali, Karko, Habila, and Debri among others.

Out of the entire 4,800 students, only fifty were believers in Christ while in the Mesakin, Krongo, Tulishi, and Wali tribes, there were no believers.

At the end of the training, many came to faith in Christ with tears rolling down their faces because of the great love of the Lord Jesus Christ that He has placed upon their lives.

More than 1,000 souls came to the Lord while many more are continuing to read and learn about our God. To these, we have also given to them the chronological booklets and we pray that the Lord will use these booklets to change the entire Nuba Mountains.

Thank you for sharing with these people, and may these seeds germinate and grow to the glory of God.”

Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

From South Sudan:

“Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope you are doing well. We are blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ each day.

It is less than two weeks since we started discipling the Arab believers–formerly Muslims. The response to the Gospel through the teaching of the chronological booklets is so remarkable with 100% attendance every Wednesday evening for two hours.

Here is what these former Muslims are saying: ‘We are glad that we found you. Many people are always criticizing other religions, but they do not give a proper solution for our lives. To be an apostate in the Muslim religion is one of the greatest sins in Islam, and it is punishable by death.

For you to take time to share with us the Word of God within these last few days has taught us many things. In this world, there are only two tribes–the tribe of God and the tribe of Satan. Satan always lied to us about our identity. We were lost. We were the rebellious tribe. Thankfully, God picked us up from different parts of the world and brought us into the good tribe, the tribe of God!’

This is one of the many incredible testimonies about the underground believers whom we are discipling. Some of them come along with their wives which is never practiced among the Muslims. My wife helps by teaching the women the chronological stories. Indeed, in darkness, the enemy laughed at them, but the Light of God is shining brighter and brighter everyday. Their hearts are full of joy, and they love receiving these truths from the Lord! Keep praying with us as we minister to them.”

‘Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy. When I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me’ (Micah 7:8).

Uganda:

My name is Mulungi Hassan Moses. I am the son of Al Hajjii Kakungulu Munda Mulungi Musa.

I am a Muganda by tribe, an Abalangira of the royal family of Buganda, born into a Muslim family. My family was part of the foundation of Islam in the entire country of Uganda.

I went to Azhar University in Egypt, studying Islamic theology and doctrine. I graduated as an Islamic judge.

In 2007, I returned to Uganda. I got married, and was given the leadership of one of the mosques in Kibuli in Kampala. At the same time, I was also a judge for Islamic religious affairs. As a judge, I sentenced many people to caning, to life imprisonment, and even to death.

In Uganda, I continued practicing the Islamic faith along with witchcraft and idol worship. I married six women, two chosen by me, two chosen by the mosque, and two chosen by my father. I was taught to fight for Islam using money and speech, but also with hands and weapons when necessary.

In 2013, people came and taught the Gospel in my community, directly opposite the mosque. These people would talk about Muslims going to the fire of hell. This scared me immensely.

I told some Muslim men to fight them. I also hired sixty young people to fight with them, and to make loud noises as they were teaching. I never wanted to see them in my community.

There was an evangelistic crusade for five days, and I was happy, as no one was saved. A pastor, however, prayed that God would touch us just as He did to Saul who used to be an enemy to believers. I laughed out loud.

Then, during the evening prayer, as I was leading Muslims in prayer, I saw the earth almost turning upside down. There was a man with blood on him while the earth rotated back and forth.

I asked him who He was, and what He wanted with us in the mosque. I thought He was going to kill me, but then, He spoke with words full of grace and replied, ‘I am Jesus Christ.’ He also said that I was continually wounding Him during the five days of teaching because of my resistance to the teaching. He told me to believe in Him as the Son of God, and not as Issa Masih, a Muslim prophet of Allah.

From that point on, the Lord Jesus became more and more a part of my life. I had a hole in my heart, but Christ healed me. For eight days, I was blind, but on the eighth day, my eyes were open and I saw a rainbow, pointing me to the church.

In full Muslim dress, I walked and followed the rainbow to the church. As I walked, people were cursing at me, but when I reached the church, the pastor was waiting for me, as the Lord had spoken to him about me.

That day, I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. My wives left me because I was viewed as an apostate, and I was supposed to die.

One night, my family came to me, and began stoning me, throwing bricks at me. I was on the ground, covered with bricks, and thought that I was going to die. My family walked away, leaving me to die.

Then, I heard a voice telling me to put up my hand. I pushed my hand up through the bricks, and a man grabbed my hand, helping me out of the bricks to the side of the road. He then disappeared, and I have never seen him since.

Shortly after this, in the black of the night, another man came in his car, put me into his car, and took me to the hospital. He told me that he had just had a vision, telling him to drive to where I was lying, and to pick up a man named Moses (I had also never met this man before, but this man was a human being).

I recovered in the hospital, but my left eye, I am afraid, is permanently damaged.

After recovering, I remarried, and the Lord has blessed us with three children. I am now a pastor of a church in Nasere Gganda which is full of Muslims and witchcraft. Though my sight is weak, the Lord Jesus has given me a strong faith in Him.

In 2020, I met my brother Felix Bright, and since that time, we have been ministering together. I have learned much from the chronological booklets, and they have been a great tool of transformation for me as well as for the youth in the church. Felix has become a son of encouragement to me. He has brightened up both my life and the ministry as well. We are trusting God for His provision for our family as well as for more chronological booklets to help us to teach in this community. Thank you so much for your support and prayers.”

This testimony is from Uganda:

“Being born into Islam, I never knew about the love of God. During a crusade where the Word of God was being taught, God encountered me as I was persecuting the Christians, and my life journey of transformation began.

Initially, I believed that God had called me to reach fellow Muslims, but the more that I would try to reach out to them, the more that I felt lost as I had no proper idea of how to reach them. Muslims have bitten me and tried to kill me, yet I have survived. The Muslims have also stoned me as I attempted to reach them for Christ, and now, I am no longer able to see out of one of my eyes.

Now, after working with the chronological booklets, I have come to understand that the foundation of everything is the holiness of God which is so important when reaching out to the lost.

In the past, I was afraid to send out any of the young people for evangelism, as I did not want anything bad to happen to them as it happened to me. Yet, after they had been learning from the booklets for a long time, they said this: ‘We can’t keep quiet with such important information and the greatest news in the whole world. We will go out and tell people the good news of God’s love, His desire to forgive us, and how He will save all who will believe.’

With this, we set out for evangelism. Since we are surrounded by mosques, we didn’t have anywhere to go except to one of the markets and to teach the Word of God near one of the mosques!

The Muslims came to listen to the Word of God. They were very peaceful, and
wanted to hear more about this Good News, especially after realizing that every soul must face death. This is also a verse in their own holy book, the Quran. None will escape God’s judgement if they do not believe in Jesus.”

1 Peter 3:15: “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

From South Sudan:

“On Wednesday, while walking in the main market, two men called to me from their car. When I walked over to them, they asked me in a rough tone: ‘Everyday we see you walking around, and we’ve also heard that you are a follower of Issa Al-Massih. Is this true?’

When I said, ‘Yes,’ they opened the door and pushed me into their car. I was carrying my Bible, a note book, a pen, and a few copies of the chronological booklets. As they drove off, they made phone calls to different Arabs, saying that they had found the one who has been converting people. I was kidnapped.

When our journey stopped, I stepped out of the car, and the first sight made my blood grow cold. Everyone was carrying a gun and there were many vehicles there. I was forcefully made to sit down and food was brought for me to eat. I was so afraid. I couldn’t eat anything. Yet, I had to try and at least drink something. Otherwise, they would have thought that I was their enemy. By either eating or drinking that which they had offered, I was showing them that I was their friend, and not their enemy.

As I said earlier, every man among them was carrying a gun. Then one of them shouted out, ‘Is it true that you know Abdi? Is it true that he is your disciple?’

When I said, ‘Yes,’ they told me that they were going to kill me and Mohamed.

Then Mohamed, wearing full Arab attire, came forward. Some time ago, I had prayed for Mohamed who was sick with epilepsy, and the Lord Jesus had healed him. After that, Mohamed would come to me, and I had been secretly discipling him.

After a time, Mohamed told his mother that he was no longer a Muslim, but was now a Christian. Mohamed’s mother then told her husband, and the news spread among the Muslim community.

At that point, I requested to make a call to my wife, but they took away my phone on the spot, saying it was not allowed.

Then, something unbelievable happened. They all knelt down together in front of me. It was amazing. I had no idea what was happening.

This is what they told me:

‘We have not met many people who are ready to give their lives to Issa (the Lord Jesus). You have just shown us all that you are a true believer and a true follower of Issa. Please know that we love you. You cannot, however, give away our identity. We want you to begin teaching us about God. We have no one to teach us about God.’

As I wept, they removed their hats, brought water and poured it into a drum, and asked me to baptize them. Right there, I baptized seventeen Arab believers, and we have been teaching them ever since. We are teaching them using the chronological booklets.

As they will be killed if others would find out, I cannot give out their names nor take any pictures. Pray that God will grant us more boldness to share the Word of God and that the men in this class would grow strong in the faith of Christ.”

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto
salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16).

Testimony from South Sudan:

“Last week on Friday, I had an opportunity to enter a mosque. It was my first time, and I spent a whole day there. Two Muslim friends of mine came in and were shocked, as they wanted to know how a Christian could have courage to enter a mosque.

I went with an electrician friend of mine to install ceiling fans, as it is very hot here. Muslims cannot enter a church because it is Haram. They believe it is a huge sin.

When it was time for prayer, we had to stop. Many Muslims flocked into the mosque for Salat, Islamic prayer. I was sitting behind all of the people with my fellow electrician, watching them praying and bowing. This moved my heart and I became so sad to see how devoted and passionate they were, bowing to an idol.

At that point, God reminded me of Philippians 2:9-11:

‘Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and has given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’

Christ also died for Muslims. As these verses teach us, all people on earth will bow to the Name of Jesus and confess that He is Lord. There is still hope for these people we are trying to reach. Let’s keep sowing and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A brother from the Koalib tribe is learning the Word of God through the chronological booklets. These truths are helping him to preach the Gospel among the Muslims. He does this at great risk to his own life. Going to the mosque has caused many to want to listen to the teaching as they know that he is one of their brothers.

This is what he is saying: ‘God is at work to save Muslims from the bondage of Islam. We are a sign that He has a plan for them because He has placed a burden among us to live, labor, and shine for the light of Christ among them.’”

This testimony from another widow in Kenya:

“Last year, I wanted to commit suicide. Life had become unbearable for me. Since my husband died two years ago, my life had totally changed. We were used to each other. He was my everything as God didn’t give us a child.

When he died, I felt empty, lonely, and miserable. Life had no meaning any more. I would sit alone the whole day in my compound, and I thought, ‘Why not join my husband?’

On my way to the shop to buy my poison, I met Mama Sarah with a booklet. We greeted each other, and I smiled, hiding my pain. Then Mama Sarah told me how she has found her joy in reading Bible stories.

She was a widow who had gone through the same thing that I was going through. She had started reading the simple Bible stories which gave her hope to live again. These stories gave her company. She has a Saviour who is always with her.

This caught my attention, and I wanted to know more. Mama Sarah brought me to the widows’ group and introduced me to the Bible stories. I was given a booklet lessons 1-10, and I went home with it–not with the poison.

I read the book, after which I went to Mama Sarah for more lessons. She took me to our group leader who gave me all of the 68 lessons to copy as she has only one set. I made my copies, have read all of the lessons, and now, I am alive.

The lessons taught me that our lives belong to God. Jesus is always with us even when we feel alone. Jesus knows us better than we know ourselves. Jesus is our JOY.

Jesus gave me my sisters. We read the stories together, and I am no longer lonely. I now have friends who visit, and we share together. I am so grateful for these booklets that have given me life. I am alive because these booklets have replaced the poison.”

May God replace any poison in our lives with His truth.

This testimony from Violet in Kenya who was widowed at the age of 20:

“I got married when I was 18 years old due to pressure from my step mother who treated me like her slave after my mother had died. I married a man who was an addict to drugs, but I didn’t know this when we first got married.

After a year of marriage, God blessed me with twin boys. When I found him smoking in the thicket near our house, my husband told me of his addiction to drugs. As I had nowhere to go, I decided to live with him as he was the father of my children.

During the birthday celebration for our kids who had turned one year old, my husband came home with his friends to celebrate. We had lunch together, and he left only to be found the following day dead on the road.

This was so painful. How could I be widowed at the age of twenty? Should I get married to another man? Tradition demanded that I get married to his younger brother, but I refused.

I decided that I would take care of my kids with God’s help. I asked myself questions: Why did God allow it to happen? Who killed my husband? Is God real?

I got answers to these questions when Mama Elizabeth gave me casual jobs at her home two years ago. She paid me, and gave me food to take care of my kids. She introduced me to the widows’ group and we met in her house to read the Bible stories together.

She taught us of the two tribes in the world–those who belong to God and those who belong to Satan–evil people and good people. She taught us people of God to obey and to listen to God. Bad people listen to and obey the devil.

She taught us through stories that good people have a Savior and they surrender their lives to Him–JESUS CHRIST.

I gave my life to Jesus and decided that I would not remarry. It has been fifteen years now since my husband died. I have more peace because I now know who my Savior is. I am now reading the Bible stories to my kids who are teenagers and I know that our Savior will be with them as they grow to become adults.”

From Wycliffe:

These and other testimonies caused our printer to donate 300 copies of lessons 21-30 to the widows this year. We need another 300 copies of lessons 21-30 and 600 copies of lessons 31-40.

Hearing of the changes in widows in Vihiga county, the widows of Kakamega county have organised their conference from 11th to 15th December 2024. We need 300 copies of lessons 1-20. Please pray that God provides funds to help these ladies know more about God by giving them a booklet.
