From Lodwar, Kenya among the Pokot tribe:

“My name is Angeline. I am sure that Jesus saves. He has saved me.

I got married to help my father who was desperately in need of financial help to treat my younger sister who had a heart problem. The man whom I married promised to pay all of the hospital bills if I agreed to marry him. I had no option as I needed to help my sister.

The first year of marriage was okay, but when I delivered a baby girl, all hell broke loose. My husband started mistreating me, as he wanted a boy more than a girl. I was so mistreated by my husband’s entire family, and they asked my husband to marry a second wife. This only added more pain.

I got some relief when my husband’s second wife also gave birth to a baby girl. Wanting a baby boy, my husband married a third wife who also bore to him a baby girl.

In my struggles, I went to church. The pastor taught us about a Savior who saves us in all situations. He taught us about Hannah who was barren, but God gave her a son, Samuel. Sarah was also barren, but God gave her Isaac who became the ancestor of the Savior Jesus Christ.

My husband was planning to marry a fourth wife as we were going through the Bible lessons. The pastor taught us that Jesus came to correct what sin and Satan had destroyed. Going through the lessons, it gave me hope and I began to love and trust Jesus.

I gave my life to Him and asked him to bless me with a baby boy to save our family. I had forgiven my husband for all he had done to me. I got my second pregnancy, and I kept asking God for a baby boy. The elders of the church convinced my husband not to marry another wife until I gave birth.

We continued with the lessons. I learned how God saved the Israelites and many other stories from the Bible. My life changed and I started to share the love with my husband’s other two wives. We all joined the study and prayed together.

God answered! I am a proud mother of a son I named David who will save his people from Goliath. My husband didn’t marry again. These booklets saved our marriage. Thank you, and glory to God!”

“My name is Mary. I always wanted to have a nice family as I grew up in a family of polygamy–my father had two wives. Life was not easy for me. The other side of the family hated my side of the family.

For the first man I was hoping to marry, my step sister told him that I was barren and cursed, and that I would not have children if he married me. He ended up marrying my step sister.

For the second man I was hoping to marry, as we were waiting for him to come and pay the dowry, he did not show up. After some days, I met him and was shocked to see him with my other step sister. She had accused me of being a prostitute.

For the third man I was hoping to marry, my step sisters told my dad that he was a witch doctor, and my dad chased him away when he came to our home.

This frustrated me and I lived in pain. I had given up on God as I wondered where He was when I was going through all this.

One day, a friend invited me to join her to listen to some Bible stories that were being read in her church. I had not gone to church for years and had run away from home to another town. I went with her to church and listened as they read lessons starting from creation.

For one of the lessons, the pastors shared how Joseph was hated by his brothers, how the Israelites were enslaved, and how God had promised them a Savior. I felt I was an Israelite who needed a Savior. Just like Joseph, my family had betrayed me.

This led me to cry and seek this Savior. The pastor led me to Christ and I gave my life to the Lord Jesus. I forgave all my sisters and went back home.

God answered my prayers, and in October, God gave me a husband. I am now married and expecting my first born. Thank you for the booklets.”

Brother Ben, Where I am in Bungoma, Kenya, people need these booklets. The people here are full of religions and witchcraft. Alcohol is rampant. There is prostitution and drugs, and people sacrifice their children to idols to get rich.

I believe that God wants me to bring the light to my village. Please help me get more booklets. This is the tool that will touch this village. Help me change Lwakhakha for Jesus. Pastor Brian Kadenge.

“My name is Allan. I have been a taxi driver for many years, and have carried a lot of criminals in my car without knowing it.

Just last year, I gave my life to Christ after my friend introduced me to their church to study together the chronological Bible stories. Going through the 68 lessons helped me to understand the Bible and to know God. I decided to keep the booklets in my taxi so that I could revise them as I waited for customers.

One day, while I was reading about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, two men came and asked me to take them to a place to which they would direct me. I just dropped my book on the seat and drove off.

While on the road, I noticed that one of the guys had a bag, but had picked up the booklet and was reading it. After a few kilometers, we took a turn onto a private road.

It was a quiet road, and there was no one else on the road. Immediately, the one who was not reading the booklet drew a gun, and told me to stop. I was terrified as I then knew that they were bandits.

He directed me to a dark place and ordered me to give him all of the money I had. At that moment, the one who was reading my booklet called out to him, and told him to let me go as I was a Christian.

When they asked me if the car was mine, I told them that I was only a driver, and that the car belonged to someone else. At this point, the one who was reading the booklet told me that they were on the run, and that if I could take them to where they could hide, they would not harm me nor take the car. They asked me to drive them to the next town which I had no problem doing.

Arriving at the next town, the one who was reading the booklet then asked me to give him the booklet so that he could learn more about God. Out of total fear, I gave him all of the 68 booklets. They then walked away.

I thank God that the booklets saved me. I pray that God will use these booklets to save these two bandits. These booklets saved my life.”

From South Sudan:

The Daloka church is growing in knowledge of the Word of God, devoted in fellowship, and meeting every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.

Monday meeting is to learn the word of God through Chronological Booklets studies. Learning the Word of God is above all else.

Here is a testimony from one of the Dalokas:

“Being born in a Muslim home, many people came and shared with us the Word of God and the result always was very negative. My father was fighting with them and always defending himself, saying that we were born Muslim and that’s our
religion. He never wanted to listen to the people coming to teach us.

While in high school, I received some booklets teaching us the story of God’s Word which had nothing to do with religion. I started reading this book and then interpreting to my family in our Shatt language.

My father was so happy to always hear the story, but sometimes his face would turn pale when talking about sin, death, and the animal dying on behalf of Adam. Every story greatly touched my family. One day, my father surprised us by saying that he wanted to have the kove of this God who does not demand us to do good before he loves us, but rather, that He loved us and died for us.

Joy fell over my entire family as we believed in God. Our whole family has changed.”

This woman continues in the fellowship with so much joy. She has been the house leader of her fellowship. She shares the Word of God with much passion, and is always humble. It is my prayer that the girls will be empowered with the Word of God to share with their family and make the camp a better place. Ladies, too, are of great importance in the kingdom of God. Hallelujah.

From a high school student in South Sudan who shares how he has been teaching secret believers with their testimonies as they grow in Christ:

“When the fellowship was closed by the Imam because his wife became a believer, we didn’t know what to do. The Muslims started all kinds of evil acts against us, and we had no idea what to do.

After spending time with the chronological lessons and developing disciples, we began secretly meeting at someone’s home for a time, after which we would separate.

Sometimes we would meet at the water place, and while people were drawing water, we would quietly discuss truths of the Bible, the importance of God in our lives, and why it is important to obey God. Nine young boys have also been in our meetings. Five have already expressed faith in Jesus Christ, and we believe that the remainder will do the same.

Now that we are an underground church, we have not encountered any challenge as the team agrees to be confidential and bring even more to the Lord. It is our prayer that we be able to find more study materials like chronological booklets and the Bible for more studies.

One of our brothers left for a time, but one thing he always told us was not to depend on anything else, but look at Jesus and the Bible. Today, I am glad that I can share my faith and many are coming to know the Lord.”

Let’s keep on praying with this team to keep sharing their faith and have boldness to preach the gospel even in persecution. Amen.

From South Sudan:

When the leaders are taught the word of God, and embrace the word of God in all that they do, ministry becomes a swift journey just as the Lord Jesus Christ teaches us in his Word.

Embracing true doctrine, fellowshiping together, the breaking of bread, and continuous devotion to prayer should be a part of every ministry. In South Sudan, there are many unreached people groups. Recently, while I was in Juba, I got time to share with Pastor Sam and other leaders who have been loving the word of God. Therefore, we organized an open air crusade which took place in the New Site Market in Juba, South Sudan.

During the crusade, forty people surrendered their lives and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. Among them was a woman who had been having challenges with her epileptic child.

She said this: “My child had been falling down and convulsing all the time. In our culture, we believe in ‘Kujur’ which means witchcraft. I have tried this out in different places, but still had no solution for my child.”

As I prayed for the child, the Lord Jesus healed the baby. Pastor Sam called me to tell me that since the crusade, the lady now comes to the teaching and her baby is completely healed from epilepsis. Through this miracle, six more families have surrendered their lives to Christ and a fellowship has begun in New Site in Juba.

Keep praying with us to have enough booklets to give out to these new converts and discipleship to continue to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven.

In the primary school, the Lord’s teaching has been a continuous process. With a brother teaching every Wednesday morning, many student have embraced these truths and are now walking in them. Last week, I received a call from one of the brothers, giving a report and testimonies of the ongoing teaching.

God has been very faithful as we have been teaching. At our gathering last week, we watched as thirty souls came to the Lord. At the moment, we have discipleship
work going on in order to meet the families of these students, encouraging the students to read their booklets and to share the Word of God. We have also decided to meet every Sunday evening to pray together for the mission to expand and reach even more people.

As a result, there are now a total of 150 students and six teachers believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. We meet together for fellowship, praying for the Nubian community at large. It is our prayer that these children will be educated, and be shown the way of the Lord. We are also praying and trusting God for more booklets to give out to the ones who have not yet received them as well as to expand the Word of God. Greetings to all.

From the Muru tribe in South Sudan:

“I did not know the love of God. I did not understand who God is. I had the fear of everything because war and fighting is the order of the day in the Nuba mountains.

In February of 2020, I came from the Nuba mountains after having stayed in the forest with my animals for long time. My parents lost track of me, and later, rebels took away some one hundred animals from me. They beat me so much before leaving me on my own. I was taught that all that we needed in life was our animals, and to me, taking my animals was like putting me to death.

I walked to the camp. My life was worthless. I no longer had any hope in witchcraft because it did not protect me from my enemies.

At the camp, I sought help, but no one would help me. I started asking people for food, but many people would beat me up. Sometimes, I was asked to work for someone, and in return, they would give me enough food for that day.

In 2021, out of frustration I listened to the gospel being preached in one of the crusades, and I chose the way of life. The Lord Jesus Christ has given me a new hope and a new life.

I now stand before men and proclaim the Gospel of the kingdom of God. I no longer fear witchcraft or anything else. Jesus Christ has brought peace to me, and
above all, I am happy that I am now a child of God.

When I finish my education I want to join a mission school, be trained, and then go to reach out to other people who have not been reached. What a joy to find my new family! What a new life in Christ Jesus!”

2 Cor 5:17: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Pray that this young man will have boldness to preach the Gospel in all seasons. He is a high school student and is training other people to know the Lord and to walk in the way of the Lord.
