-God told Noah to take his family and enter the boat.

-God also told Noah to take animals into the boat.

  1. How did Noah and his family enter the boat?

-By the only door.

  1. How did all of the animals enter the boat?

-By the only door.

  1. After Noah and his family and all the animals entered the boat, what did God do?

-God shut the door.

  1. Why did God shut the door?

-So that those inside would be safe.

-So that those outside would not enter, but die.

  1. Can anyone escape God’s punishment?

-No.

  1. How did God make the flood cover the entire earth?

-To make the flood cover the entire earth, God caused all the water that He placed above the sky to rain down.

-A rainbow.

  1. What does the sign of the rainbow mean?

-The rainbow means that God will never again destroy the earth with a flood.

  1. Has God kept His promise not to destroy the earth again by flood?

-Yes.

  1. Who were the sons of Noah who are the forefathers of all people on the earth?

-Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

-After God saved Noah and his family from the flood, many years passed.

-Many years passed, and many children were born, until many people lived on the earth once again.

-Who were the people who were born after Noah?

-They were your ancestors and my ancestors.

-Did our ancestors know about God?

-Yes.

-How did our ancestors know about God?

-Firstly, our ancestors knew about God because the older people told the younger people about God and the flood.

-What did the older people tell the younger people about God and the flood?

-The older people told the younger people that God hates sin, and had, therefore, destroyed all of the people except Noah and his family.

-How else did our ancestors know about God?

-Secondly, our ancestors knew about God because the rainbow told them about God.

-What did the rainbow tell our ancestors about God?

-That God loves people, and that He will never destroy the earth again with a flood.

-How else did our ancestors know about God?

-Thirdly, our ancestors knew about God because the sky, the mountains, the rivers, and the trees told them about God.

-What did the sky, the mountains, the rivers, and the trees tell our ancestors about God?

-That God alone is God, and that people should follow God alone.

-Does the rainbow still tell us about God today?

-Yes.

-Do the sky, the mountains, the rivers, and the trees still tell us about God today?

-Yes.

-Although our ancestors knew about God, did most of our ancestors believe in God?

-No.

-Only a few of our ancestors believed in God.

-Instead of following God, whom did most of our ancestors follow?

-Most of our ancestors followed Satan and his lies.

-Most of our ancestors were under Satan’s control.

-What did Satan tell our ancestors to do?

-Satan told our ancestors to sacrifice to the sun, moon, and stars.

-Satan also told our ancestors to sacrifice to the spirits of the trees, the spirits of the rivers, and the spirits of the dead.

-Our ancestors also carved wood and rock to look like people and animals, and sacrifice to them.

-Satan was leading our ancestors not to believe in God.

-Satan was leading our ancestors to rebel against God.

-Satan was leading our ancestors to sacrifice to the sun, moon, and stars.

-Satan was leading our ancestors to sacrifice to the spirits of the trees, the spirits of the rivers, and the spirits of the dead.

-Satan does not want anyone to worship God.

-Our ancestors did not want God to lead them.

-Our ancestors wanted only to follow Satan and other people.

-After the flood, one of our ancestors whom the people followed was named Nimrod.

-Nimrod commanded the people to build many cities.

-One of the cities which the people built was called Babel.

-In the city of Babel, Nimrod commanded the people to build a tall tower which would reach up to God.

Let’s read Genesis 11:1-4

1-Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.

2-As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

3-They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.”  They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.

4-Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”

-God told Adam and Noah to fill the earth, and to live in different parts of the earth.

-God also told the people after Noah to fill the earth, and to live in different parts of the earth.

-Why did God not want the people to all live together in one place?

-God did not want the people to all live together in one place so that they would forget about God.

-God did not want the people to all live together in one place so that their sins would become very many.

-God wanted the people to fill the earth, but the people wanted to all live together in one place.

-The people did not want to live in different parts of the world.

-The people wanted to all live together.

-Therefore, the people all moved to the city of Babel, and began to build a tall tower.

-Why did the people begin to build a tall tower at Babel?

-Because the people were very proud.

-Because the people wanted to make a name for themselves.

-When the people began to build the tall tower, did God see?

-Yes.

Let’s read Genesis 11:5

5-But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.

-God saw that the people were building a tall tower.

-God sees everything.

-God sees all people everywhere.

-God sees each and every one of you all the time.

-Does God know all of the thoughts of all people?

-Yes.

-Before someone even starts to think a thought, God knows all of his thoughts completely.

-Does God know all of the words of all people?

-Yes.

-Before someone even starts to say a word, God knows all of his words completely.

-Does God know all of the deeds of all people?

-Yes.

-Before someone even starts to do something, God knows everything that he is going to do completely.

-The people thought that God forgot about them.

-Does God forget about people?

-God never forgets what people think.

-God never forgets what people say.

-God never forgets what people do.

-What did God say when He saw that the people were disobeying Him?

Let’s read Genesis 11:6-7

6-The LORD said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.

7-Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”

-Because our ancestors disobeyed God, God decided to punish them.

-What was the punishment that God decided?

-God would give the people different languages so that the people would not be able to understand one another.

-If God would give different languages to the people, would the people be able to understand one another?

-No.

-If God would give different languages to the people, would they be able to finish building the tall tower?

-No.

-If God would give different languages to the people, would the people be able to all live together in one place?

-No.

-A long time ago, our ancestors spoke only one language.

-But because our ancestors disobeyed God and refused to fill the earth, God gave them different languages.

-At Babel, God gave all of the people different languages.

-The English language began at Babel.

-The French language also began at Babel.

-The Spanish language also began at Babel.

-All languages began at Babel.

-After God gave all of the people different languages, what else did He do?

Let’s read Genesis 11:8-9

8-So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.

9-That is why it was called Babel–because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world.  From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

-After God gave all of the people different languages, God scattered all of the people to different places on the earth.

-God wanted the people to fill the earth, but the people wanted to live in one place.

-Did the people win or did God win?

-God won.

-Can anyone fight against God and win?

-No.

-What will God do to those who fight against Him?

-He will punish them.

-God scattered the people to different places on the earth.

-Some people moved close by.

-Some people moved far away.

-How did your ancestors finally arrive here?

-After many, many years, your ancestors came here by foot and by boat.

-This is how your people began.

-This is how all of the different peoples began.

-Your ancestors were at Babel.

-My ancestors were at Babel.

-The ancestors of all people were at Babel.
